Pamela Shanti Pack - Founder & Lead Guide for the aoo clinics

Pamela Shanti Pack has been at the forefront of offwidth climbing since 2008, relentlessly seeking out North America’s most challenging vertical and inverted offwidth lines. In 2009, she made history as the first woman to climb a 5.13 offwidth and was awarded the prestigious Golden Piton Award for establishing Gabriel in Zion National Park—the world’s first 5.13 offwidth and still one of the most formidable test-pieces globally.

Over the past decade, Pamela has established more than 300 first ascents across the American West, most of which feature powerful invert style and vertical offwidth cruxes. Through her visionary approach and relentless commitment, she has developed many of the modern offwidth techniques now used by climbers worldwide - transforming the perception of offwidth from a graceless grovel into an art form. She is known for “bringing grace to the grovel,” combining precision, body awareness, and brute strength with creative technique.

Pamela has taught over 35 specialty offwidth clinics since 2017, working with a wide range of groups including adaptive athletes, BIPOC climbers, women’s clinics, and at-risk youth. Her teaching is rooted in deep experience, humor, and a fierce dedication to helping others push through fear and find joy through climbing.

She is also a full-time Pilates instructor with a specialization in Pilates for athletes. Pamela is passionate about the power of movement to transform lives—both physically and emotionally—and integrates this belief into all aspects of her teaching. Whether on the wall or in the studio, she is deeply committed to helping people build strength, awareness, and resilience through movement.

In addition to her climbing and teaching, Pamela holds a degree from Yale University, a professional certification in GIS and Remote Sensing, and works as a hydrographic surveyor. She divides her time between Utah, Montana, and the Bering Sea.

Marcus Garcia - Lead Guide for the aoo

Marcus Garcia “might be the best climber you’ve never heard of”  according to Rock and Ice Magazine. Marcus has over 30 years of  all-around climbing experience, and has established over 200 new routes, including traditional, sport, ice routes, aid first ascents, mixed climbing, big walls, and desert towers. However, his biggest accomplishment and legacy is not how hard he can push himself, but what he passes on to the next generation of climbers as a coach and mentor. Marcus is currently helping develop the next generation of Olympic Caliber climbing athletes.

Clark Glenn - Co-Founder and guide for the aoo

Clark Glenn started climbing ten years ago and quickly found his passion in offwidth. Since then, he’s excelled at every major climbing discipline—from sport and bouldering to trad and offwidth—and brings deep experience to every clinic he teaches. Clark has climbed extensively in Indian Creek, Utah, as well as Cochise Stronghold, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Vedauwoo, WY and his home crag in Ophir, Colorado. He’s spent years inVedauwoo sharpening his skills on some of the toughest offwidths in the country. His specialty is the invert style. Clark’s teaching is grounded, empowering, and skill-driven.

He’s co-taught clinics with Pamela Shanti Pack in Indian Creek, Vedauwoo, and Joshua Tree, including adaptive athlete clinics—an area where he shines with compassion and expertise. Clark co-founded the Art of Offwidth clinics in 2019, and after years of mentorship and collaboration, we’re thrilled to have him back as a co-guide.

Clark lives off-grid in Telluride, Colorado, where he spends his free time alpine climbing, mountain biking, and surfing off the coast of Hawaii. He’s also a talented photographer with a unique ability to capture the spirit of adventure wherever he goes.
