Pamela Shanti Pack has been seeking out North America’s most challenging inverted and vertical style offwidth climbs since 2008. She has done dozens of significant first female ascents of offwidths throughout the American West including the first female ascent of Lucille 13a (onsight) in Vedauwoo, WY. Pamela was not only the first women in the world to climb 5.13 offwidth, but also received the prestigious Golden Piton Award in 2009 for establishing Gabriel in Zion National Park which was the first 5.13 offwidth established in the world by a male or female and remains a worldwide test-piece. Subsequently, Pamela has gone on to establish well over 250 first ascents of hard vertical and invert style offwidths and desert “adventure” routes and has rare repeats of hundreds of desert offwidth masterpieces. Her greatest passion as a climber is establishing routes to the rim and she has over 25 rim routes.

Besides being a professional climber for over 10 years, Pamela has also worked in the Bering Sea and offshore Alaska for many years as a hydrographic surveyor and is trained in Cold Water Survival and tactical weapons training. She has also has a Professional Certification in GIS and Remote Sensing, is a writer and trained in both BASI and Balanced Body pilates.

Pamela has created a series of specialty Art of Offwidth climbing clinics, which she personally guides in Indian Creek, UT. She has been teaching offwidth clinics since 2015. She has also volunteered her time to teach offwidth clinics at the Moab Cragging Classic for five years, as well as multiple clinics for diverse populations, ranging from specialty Women’s Clinics, BIPOC Clinics to Kids-at-Risk Clinics and clinics for Adaptive Athletes.
